CompuGirls Hawaii Awarded 2022 ThinkTech Community Service Award

On Dec. 8, Whitney Aragaki, executive director of CompuGirls Hawaii, received the 2022 ThinkTech Hawaii Community Service Award for CompuGirls Hawaii.


CompuGirls Hawaii was awarded for its efforts in helping Hawaii students learn about and become competent in STEM, cutting-edge computer systems, information technology and cybersecurity, a great value to them as future participants in Hawaii's tech and business economy, including in the Department of Defense, and future of Hawaii.


CyberHawaii is pleased to serve as the program manager and provides logistics support for CompuGirls Hawaii. Congratulations to Whitney for all her hard work these past years!

Protecting Your Small Business in a Digital World

On Oct. 26, Central Pacific Bank (CPB) hosted a webinar highlighting ways for small businesses to find strategies to help protect their assets from ever-evolving cyber threats. Jill Tokuda, co-director of CyberHawaii joined Michael Camatvice president of information security program manager at CPB and Thorsten Steen, vice president, fraud manager at CPB, to share more about CyberHawaii and the Cyber Ready Hawaii program. Case Study: A Cyber Readiness Institute Program Created with CyberHawaii Helps Local Businesses Qualify for Lower Cyber Insurance Premiums and DoD Contracts 


The Cyber Readiness Institute (CRI) recently published a case study on the Cyber Ready Hawaii program. CyberHawaii partnered with CRI to create an online cyber readiness program to help Hawaii's small and medium sized businesses to build cybersecurity policies, develop an incident response plan and meet DOD cybersecurity requirements.
